During my lunch hour, I speed-walked down the street with my new travel tumbler in tow, swigging mint and lemon water under the scorching British sunshine. It was only 12.30 p.m., and I was pleasantly surprised that I had nearly finished 32 ounces. My dark blue stainless steel travel companion had been with me nearly everywhere over the past month. I had taken her to work, on walks, in the car, to hot yoga (which I highly recommend) and she even became my trusty bedside companion.
After one month of persistent usage, I found the travel tumbler to be a practical, handy, and highly sustainable alternative to single-use plastic bottles. Whether going on long walks, runs, or days out, I have always been accompanied by water, plastic bottles, or even cartons, but this way, I can truly ditch it all. But first, before I get into this, what is Hydroflask?
Hydroflask is a new brand in the wave of drinkware and vacuum-insulated bottles. The brand prides itself on durability and uses high-quality materials to ensure its products are long-lasting. Launched in 2009, it offers custom-designed gear for outdoor enthusiasts and adventurers.
I recently got my hands on a new Travel tumbler that promises to keep drinks cold for 12 hours, and as someone who is always on the go, I immediately put it to the test.
I first noticed how stylish and sleek it looked—a step up from the traditional stainless steel flask on the market. The sustainable design is a big plus too, especially for those trying to make eco-friendlier choices. I took it to work and on my daily commute to see if it lived up to its promises. I was impressed by how well it kept my drink ice-cold throughout the day. Even after hours of sitting on my desk and in the car, my water stayed refreshingly chilled. The flask is also super easy to clean, which is a huge win – you can place the tumbler in a dishwasher or rinse with a bit of water.
I had some issues using the tumbler while driving. Now this completely depends on what type of car you drive, but in my car, placing it in my cup in the holder behind the gear stick made it difficult to shift gears, and trying to put it in the back seat cup holder didn’t work either. So, I ended up keeping the tumbler in my bag during my drives. Also, for those commuting, the tumbler may not be the best option for you. I would instead opt for their thermal bottles with a cap – as they are easy to travel with and throw in your bag.
Compared to other flasks, this one stands out for both its functionality and aesthetic. It’s durable, sustainable, and stylish, making it a great choice for anyone who drives to work and wants to stay hydrated in style. While it may not be the best option for everyone, this flask is a more affordable and worthy alternative to the Stanley, and I highly recommend it.
If you want to get the same tumbler I did, you can find the tumbler in the link here.
